Important Dates and Summer Opportunity

New Important Dates:

Thursday, May 14^th dinner with outgoing and incoming board members at Texas Roadhouse off Barret Parkway (2475 Barrett Creek Pkwy Marietta, GA 30066) at 6:30.

Sunday June 14^th through Tuesday June 16^th- Leadership Retreat! If you have not already replied to Ms. Jimmerson's email she needs your RSVP as soon as possible! Executive Board - It is mandatory that you attend this retreat. Please adjust your schedule as necessary. Thank you.

Please note that there will no longer be a meeting before school ends. Everything will be planned on the retreat. Have a great summer!

Opportunity:

There is a camp called Lose the Training Wheels for children with special needs. The camp allows these children the time to learn a bike over a 5 day period. The camp is from July 6^th to July 10^th. There are 5 different sessions each day, therefore you can choose the best time for you. The camp recommends volunteering for the same time each day so the child you work with feels more comfortable. The camp is at the Hembree Park Recreation Center - 850 Hembree Road, Roswell, Ga 30076. All of this is in the information in the applicatio, which will be upload shortly. How Does The Grehyound Connection (The GC) Work?

You may be use to SGA. Well the Greyhound Connection is SGA, but improved!! The GC is a way to better organize all student clubs to be more effective here at Pope. Attached you will find the Greyhound Connection organizational chart. This chart shows each GC office and gives a brief overview of what meetings they preside over.

What Can I Do Now If I'm Interested In Running For An Office Next Year?

If you are interested in running for a GC office for the 2009-2010 school year, you need to do a couple of things:

1- Choose the office you would like to run for from the following link. Begin shadowing the current GC officer. This spring we have many events coming up and you can help! Our current officers will be stepping aside to let potential officers show what talents they have. This information will be used to help determine if you are appointed to your desired position. All GC Executive Officers and Class Officers will require an interview and some positions will be appointed by the current officers rather than "running" for office. For more information on job descriptions and qualifications needed, please see the leadership packet below. Please fill out the first application for Exec. and Class Officers only.
