Introduction to Graphic Design

We have hit the ground running with the new semester! The students will be working through Screen Printing for the next several weeks. Due dates have been given and are attached below.

PARENTS - PLEASE help your child get a shirt for the screen printing unit! The shirt does not need to be brand new. A clean plain t-shirt (any color) that is 100% or 50/50 cotton will work. These need to be ready to print as soon as your child has a screen ready with his/her design. This weekend would be a GREAT opportunity to purchase a shirt if needed! Thanks for your attention to this.

Midterm Study Guide

7th period midterm is next Monday, December 19

5th period midterm is next Tuesday, December 20

1st period midterm is next Wednesday, December 21

2nd and 4th midterm is next Thursday, December 22

Design and Layout Test on November 1

On November 1, the Design and Layout Test will be given. Included with this post is the study guide that students have available to them beginning today, October 28.

On Wednesday, we will begin learning how to work with Illustrator. This is a really neat program, but very deep... students will realize that the more they use this program, the more they will enjoy it. It will take time to get a grasp, but with lots of projects and practice, they will become fairly proficient in the next several months.

With Illustrator, we will redesign the Zoo Atlanta logo and draw simple shapes with 3D shading.

There will be a test over the design and layout unit the first week of November. Until that time, we will be working on the CD cover and label and a Halloween/Autumn drink label. Instructions for the CD are above, and the information that students have received for Design and Layout are above also. Due dates are given for most items. 

CD label and inserts are due no later than October 25. No work will be taken late unless the student has an excused absence during that time.
