Developmental Psychology A is a freshman level course that is continued in the senior year with Developmental Psychology B. Both courses are designed to explore theories of psychology as they relate to the construction of self and social knowledge. Both courses focus on extensive student interaction and practice in the skills of emotional intelligence. Students will write about their reflections and discuss within the classroom community the insights they are gaining about psychology and about themselves. These courses are also designed to address the psychosocial development of gifted adolescents, and a considerable amount of "student ownership" is expected.
