This weekend: Do your preliminary planning for your Dante project next week, which will consist of an expository/narrative essay, a diagram, and a worksheet which we will complete as we read a canto per day. On a sheet of notebook paper, decide on the architecture of your inferno. Students have used: toy stores, cruise ships, castles, bus stations, malls, skyscrapers, tornadoes, solar systems, Pope high school, etc. Then choose 10 "sinners" from world literature -- major or minor characters from works we have read or not. These characters need not be true "criminals" -- every character has a flaw. Lastly, begin listing appropriate punishments for each of your 10 chosen "sinners." Remember -- in Dante, the punishment must fit the crime.

Oedipus take-home test:
Due Monday before homeroom. No excuses accepted. Place the test in the box on the table in our classroom. Points off if submitted after homeroom. Further points off if submitted later in the day. More points off if submitted Tuesday, etc. If you will be absent Monday, send the test with a friend to avoid late penalties.
This test is an opportunity for a high test grade. However, you must use your textbook, intro note guide, both study guides, and notes from the two overheads. Quoted material must be exactly as in the textbook. Answers must be exactly correct. Read the statements carefully, and do not place too much trust in answers from others. If illegible, I will consider the answer incorrect.
